The ninth house, in turn, forms a trine with the first house, imbuing the native’s personality with the flavors of their philosophical framework. Forming a flowing trine from the fifth house, we see the creativity of the fifth house activating the higher mind and its expressions. In modern times it often signifies the native’s spiritual, philosophical or political orientations, as well as education. The ninth house was associated with the practice of religion and ruler cults in ancient times, as well as foreign travel. The upper half of the chart signifies the “spirit,” as in the mind or intellect, while the lower half, below the horizon, represents the body.
